"The Youth Chamber Music Program provides young musicians with fantastic opportunities to perform with peers as well as professionals. My daughter has enjoyed the weekly rehearsals while learning new pieces and developing skills needed for performing in an ensemble. The coaches are passionate and offer great support for the students. My daughter's love for flute and music has grown deeper. She has also had a lot of fun performing in front of audiences. We feel very lucky to have been introduced to this program."

-Hua S.

"The program is fun! I want to keep doing this!"

-Yilin

"CMP is very special because the coaches work in small ensemble groups, guaranteeing individual feedback every lesson. My favorite part of CMP is seeing everything come together in the concerts at the end of the term. It is a super fun and unique experience! I have really enjoyed it because I have been able to play a diverse set of music with instruments I have not done ensemble work with before. It has been amazing to work with groups of people who have professional careers in music. It is always great to see different opinions and interpretations of music!" -Mackenzie

"Something special about CMP is that I get to play with a couple other people like a trio or a quartet, and usually you don’t get these opportunities in school or in orchestras. My favorite part is learning how to play many different styles of classical, some more fast paced and some more lyrical than others, and so I get a wide range of classical music to learn. I have learned how to use online recording tools and how to record my playing. I have also learned how to count difficult rhythms and how to blend in with the other players in style and mood of the pieces, so that we sound together. I have learned a great deal about recording."

-Madeline

"This program allows you to collaborate with people who play different instruments than you and of different skill levels. I really enjoy seeing the finished product because it’s cool to see all the work made over many weeks come together. I think that this is a great program that allows you to collaborate with people that you don’t know. It also sometimes forces you to play in styles that you might not be the best at, which makes improvement faster. I like how everyone is working together and everyone’s part is critical in the finished piece." -Zoe

  "The teachers are really organized
and work really hard to get the best results for everyone, and when there is a problem, no matter what type (technical or musical), they do everything they can to help us fix it." -Yilin

"My favorite part of the CMP Youth Chamber Music Program is the experience of playing with different instruments."

-Sophie
